Red Oak
Primary Uses Flooring, paneling, millwork, cabinets, component parts, furniture.
Traits Gith and straight grain with prominent rays; coarse texture; highly uniform natural color, not requiring stain and showing no mineral stain; heartwood light reddish tan; sapwood almost white in color.
Availability Abundant both in clear and character formats; mineral and quarter-sawn red oak available on a specialty basis.
